Electronic Signatures

UV Insurance accepts electronic signatures on PDF investment applications for the following products:

  • Guaranteed investment certificates (GICs)

An electronic signature is accepted for:

  • Applications for a registered product (initial or additional application), such as RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, LIF or LIRA;
  • Transfer form for a transfer to UV Insurance of a registered investment (initial or additional transfer), such as RRSP, TFSA, RRIF, LIF or LIRA;
  • Spousal rollovers;
  • Additional deposits into an existing non-registered contract, for an existing client of UV Insurance.

Original signatures are required for the first application or the opening of a non-registered account. The application can be sent by email, but the original with signatures must be sent to the head office.

For changes of owners and beneficiaries, a copy of the original signature is accepted. Electronic signatures are not accepted in this case.

UV Insurance may, for compliance reasons, contact a client to verify the validity of the signature on the documents and the client’s identity.

When you send us a document bearing an electronic signature, it is essential to include the validation or audit history of the signature process with the signed document.
