Geneviève Verrier is the founding president of Investissements Bleu Horizon, a private equity firm. Previously, she was a shareholder and CEO of ALPHA Assurances, a Quebec-based general insurance company. She worked there from 1998 to 2018. She has extensive experience in strategic planning, market development, financial product and service marketing and distribution, and operations management. She sits on various boards of directors and regularly participates in advisory committees related to entrepreneurship and economic development. She also mentors start-up and growth entrepreneurs. She is a certified corporate administrator and holds an MBA and a DESS in strategic human resources planning.

Paule-Anne Morin

Paule-Anne Morin has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in information systems. She served as vice-president of financial affairs and insurance at R3D Consulting Inc. for over 17 years. Alongside her management duties, Ms. Morin also works with clients. She is a strategic management advisor and has 35 years’ experience in IT management. She has developed diversified expertise in the management of major business transformation projects, in business process engineering, and in information systems integration. Her expertise and commitment are valuable assets for our company.

Fabienne Lacoste

Fabienne Lacoste has a bachelor’s degree in business administration—finance option from HEC Montréal, and holds the professional title of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the Association for Investment Management and Research. With more than 30 years of experience in asset management, customer service, marketing and financial product development, and several years of experience as a senior executive. Mrs. Lacoste was President and Chief Executive Officer of FÉRIQUE Fund Management, manager of the FÉRIQUE Funds, and its subsidiary FÉRIQUE Investment Services, group investments broker and financial planning firm. In addition to her involvement with UV Insurance, Ms. Lacoste is socially committed to the cause of people with autism spectrum disorder by supporting the Fondation Les Petits Rois.

Gilles Pepin
Ing., M.Sc.A

Gilles Pepin holds a master’s degree in digital speech signal processing from the University of Sherbrooke and completed postgraduate studies (DEA) at the University of Rennes, France. He also studied management accounting at McGill University in Montreal. He received his engineering degree from the University of Sherbrooke in 1982. Mr. Pepin is CEO and founder of HumanWare. Over the past 30 years, he has built a solid reputation in technology and in the field of visual impairment. Prior to founding HumanWare, Mr. Pepin worked as a consultant for an engineering firm, where he completed several projects in the areas of IT, telephony and telecommunication. He then joined the Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille where he took his first steps in assistive technology. Gilles Pepin sits or has served on several boards of directors. He regularly lectures internationally on visual impairment and technology. He also works as a mentor with technology entrepreneurs.

Jean-François Brouillard

Jean-François Brouillard holds a bachelor’s degree in law and is a member of the Quebec Bar. He has been practising law since 1994. A partner at Cain Lamarre Casgrain Wells, his practice focuses on business law, security and insolvency law, as well as civil and commercial litigation. Very involved in the Drummondville community, Mr. Brouillard gives his time to important social causes in the region.

Josée Germain

CPA by training and certified corporate director (ASC), Josée Germain first worked as an external auditor in various business sectors. She went on to hold senior management positions in such prominent organizations as Université Laval, where she used her expertise for more than 20 years, 10 of which as Vice-Rector, Administration and Finance. In this capacity, Ms. Germain contributed to the sound governance, positioning and evolution of strategic projects, in addition to ensuring the rigorous management of an impressive budget and several hundred employees. Very involved in her community, Ms. Germain has served on numerous committees and boards of directors throughout her career in an advisory role, in addition to sharing her extensive experience in finance and pension plan management.

Gérard Guilbaut

Second Vice-Chair, Board of Directors | Chair, Investment Committee
With a degree in administration and financial analysis, Gérard Guilbault has held positions as Vice-President and Senior Vice-President in the financial markets and investment industry. He has served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Desjardins Asset Management. In addition to sitting on the UV Insurance Board of Directors, he continues to serve on other boards of directors and retirement and investment committees.

Marco Fillion
C.Dir, FICA, FSA
First Vice-Chair, Board of Directors | Chair, Audit and Risk Management Committee and Investment Committee
In addition to a degree in actuarial sciences, Marco Fillion is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FICA) as well as the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). He has a long and distinguished career as an actuary, administrator and actuarial consultant with leading companies around the world. He received the Chartered Director designation from the Directors College of the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, and has worked closely with several boards of directors throughout his career. His in-depth knowledge of the insurance companies’ business model and insurance accounting standards is a great asset in carrying out his supervisory role with rigour.

Alain Bédard

An actuary by training, Alain Bédard has more than 37 years of experience in the finance and insurance industry, including 27 years as a senior executive with a major Canadian financial group, including general management of a strategic business unit.
He holds the designation of the Institute of Corporate Directors and has significant experience in corporate governance which has led him to sit, as chairman or member, on several boards of directors and committees of major companies in the financial sector.
